All Quotes--Continued

The best thing one can do when it's rains is to let it rain. Keep a green garden in your heart and a singing bird is sure to come. If you salute your duty, you need not salute anybody. But if you pollute your duty, you have to salute everybody. With kids, the world is full of possibility. Kids think with their brains cracked wide open; and becoming an adult is only a slow sewing shut of the brain. Sometimes to get what you want the most, you have to do what you want the least. If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Defining and analyzing humour is a pastime of humourless people. Every time one thinks the unexpected will happen - the expected does happen which was basically the unexpected and also the actually expected. Thus all given situations are always - either expectantly unexpected or unexpectedly expected. Who we are never changes. Who we think we are does. You can tell how big a person is by what it tak...

The Big Mysteries of Life

Don't let things plague your mind. Sometimes the simplest things appear shrouded in mystery. But once you realize the truths of it all, it seems absurd in the first place that you magnified it so in your head. And I, especially so, tend to dramatize just about everything. Some people seem mysterious, some thing's said by some people seem mysterious sometimes; but if you come to see, really see, nothing is mysterious after all. It's the appearance of things, our perception of the package as a whole. If you come to think, really think about these "mysterious" things/people, it will hit you that you know more than you think you do. You can then analyze these apparently big mysterious, break them down into what it is, the truth of things. I love having things clear and figured out. I avoid mystery-izing things. Excepting me, of course. I don't even know why exactly I'm writing this NOW. I just had the thought and decided to proceed it with the process of t...

Bollywood!

Today lounging at home with relatives, watching some lame-ass MTV, the topic of Bollywood came up. We didn't discuss it at length, however. Then later my mom started watching "Kites" on TV, and that got me thinking all the more. Bollywood. Um. I think I should give an introduction to all you readers (I wish! sadly no one reads my blog!!), to this great word. It's the "Hindi Film Industry" of, guess guess, INDIA. I can't believe my blog's reduced to a platform for me to mindlessly rant about wasted firangs. (more about the 'firangs' thing later.) SO yeah, Bollywood. I'm really not making this any interesting for you'll I know. Let's see. Wow I thought I was in the blogging mood only a SECOND ago. Ah whatever. Straight to the 'firang's thing' alright. I was half-watching Kites when I saw one Barbara Mori on screen rambling in fluent Spanish. After 10 minutes of watching my mind drew a blank, and went WTF! she can't e...

All Quotes!

Doing what you're told to do is easy but doing what you want requires one to be courageous. Dont make tomorrow a continuation of today. Let me fly in the harry potter sky, while witches on brooms pass me by. When you make something make sure you make it unbreakable as Life is short for breaking what you make. The only ending to real life is death. What is your right may be my left. When i hear somebody sigh, "life is hard", i am always tempted to ask, "compared to what?" You can only get things done if your salary isn't reduced by your action. Real fools are those who don't understand compliments. Judge by experience, not by prejudice. Achievement is greater than acknowledgement. I am drawing a line between you and me, starting afresh with number one, and I consider the number before that line to be zero. If you have a problem you need to correct the first step will be to realize that you have that problem. A man who is truly ho...

Believing

Today I feel the inspiration flowing, feel like I could type and type and type. I was thinking now about belief and all its repercussions. Why do we believe? What makes us believe in things? I think, it's a choice we make, when we are told something, when we read something; basically whenever we are intimated any information, the mind automatically starts contemplating whether it's something worth our believing in it, whether our belief of it will benefit us in any emotionally gratifying way, or whether it's feasible enough to believe. From the time we are conceived there are things we are made to believe, and so in all our innocence of mind, we accept facts which are presented to us, without any questions asked. Perhaps it's out of cowardice. Our mind refuses to object or question these dogmas that so easily settle in our mindset and form such a huge part of our upbringing. Like religion for instance, it's something we can't choose when we are born, and s...

Another rant of sorts.

I decided today to put on the blog all the un -blogged posts, like this one and the previous one. About time. This one I wrote when I was holidaying in Hong Kong. One night when I was in the pensive writing mood. I made an interesting find yesterday. There is no idea of self in Buddhism. Nor is there of god. Got me questioning my purpose of this holiday. I came here, away from the life I lead, from everything I know and am so comfortable with, to this different environment. I consciously thrusted myself into this newness of city and everything, hoping to rediscover myself. Reaffirm my identity. And here I’ ve found a whole new perspective. A perspective, I’m afraid could if I dig in too deep, change everything I know. Redeem all that I believe in. It all made me think, is it really so much about finding who you are, or seeking who you would like to be? Is it more about understanding the truth or finding why it’s been a lie? I’m not making sense. Contradicting. And confusi...

Moony & Moody

Have you ever gone to bed after a pretty lousy and long day, dead tired, and all dismayed from the aftertaste of the day’s events, when you lay your head on the pillow and look out the window, and see the moon through everything else blocking the view? It’s the best thing in the world. Through the mesh and the grill it lies. A perfectly circular moon. The only distinct thing in the sky. Standing out in all its brightness. It’s whiteness against the black. So beautiful. What if the whole sky was white, and there was a black moon instead. Would that be equally wondrous? Or is it because we’ ve since time immemorial, made white so great. What if black were to become the new white? Did god predetermine this when he was creating this world? A blob of white against the backdrop of black? Lol i think I'm just really sleepy. It’s 3 in the morning. Goodbye Moon.
